Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Village Administrative Officer (VAO) Examination - 2007:
Educational Qualification for TNPSC Village Administrative Officer (VAO) Exam: As on 26-12- 2006.
Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C. Public Examination with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of studies or its equivalent or higher qualification.
Knowledge of Tamil: Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil i.e.
Must have passed the S.S.L.C. Public Examination with Tamil as one of the languages;or
Must have studied the High School Course in Tamil Medium and passed the S.S.L.C. Public Examination in Tamil Medium; or
Must have passed the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil, conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.
NOTE:
Candidates who do not possess adequate knowledge in Tamil may also apply. If selected,
they should pass the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil conducted by the Tamil Nadu
Public Service Commission within a period of two years from the date of appointment, failing which
they will be discharged from service.
Concessions: Age / Educational Qualification in TNPSC Village Administrative Officer (VAO) Exam
Ex-Servicemen may also apply even if they do not satisfy all the prescribed qualifications,
including the age limit announced. The case of each such applicant will be considered on
merit and the question of relaxing any technical restriction including the age limit will be
considered if he is selected (evidence for Ex-Serviceman to be produced).
Physically Handicapped persons will be eligible for age concession upto ten years over and
above the age limit prescribed for the post, provided they are found to be otherwise suitable
and if the medical authorities are satisfied that the physical handicap is not such as it would
render them incapable of efficiently discharging the duties of the post in the event of their selection. The degree of physical disability should be 40% and above (Evidence to
be produced).
Discharged and serving temporary State Government Employees below 40 years of age as
on 01-07-2006 will be allowed to deduct from their age, the actual period of service (whether
continuous or non-continuous) rendered upto the date of this notification under the
Government of Tamil Nadu in computing their maximum age limit .
Released bonded labourers /their sons/unmarried daughters who have not completed 40
years of age as on 01-07-2006 may also apply (Evidence to be produced).
The Technical and Non-technical staff of TANSI, who are facing retrenchment and have not
been absorbed in the Government Corporation/ Undertakings and Supervisors engaged in
IFAD Project may also apply (evidence to be produced) if they satisfy all the prescribed
qualifications except age. The relevant age rule will be relaxed by the Government in their
favour if they come up for selection.
