Get a Scholarship and study in Japan
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, (MEXT: Monbu-kagaku-sho), Government of Japan, offers scholarship to foreign students who wish to study in Japan at professional training colleges, colleges of technology or universities (undergraduate students). The scholarships are for three years, four years and five years respectively beginning from 'April 2009.
Professional Training College
The subjects offered in three years scholarship are civil engineering, architecture, electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, nutrition, infant education, secretarial studies, hotel management, tourism, photography, fashion and dressmaking, etc.
College of Technology
The fields of study offered in the four years scholarship are mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, information communication and networking engineering, materials engineering, architecture and civil engineering, maritime engineering and other fields.
Undergraduate Students
The fields of study offered in the five years scholarship are social sciences and humanities: law, politics, pedagogy, sociology, literature, history, economics, business administration and natural sciences: electric and electronic studies, mechanical studies, civil engineering, architecture, agricultural studies, medicine and dentistry.
Eligibility
Applicants must have been born between 2 April 1987 and 1 April 1992 and must have completed a twelve-year (plus two) regular course of school education. He/she must be willing to learn the Japanese language to receive the university education in Japan, since the medium of instruction for all the above fields of study will be in Japanese language.
Selection
Applicants will have to appear for a written examination in July 2008 followed by an interview (for the candidates who have passed the written examination). The selected candidates names will be forwarded to MEXT where the final selection will be made and the results will be informed to the candidates by February 2009.
