Students should concentrate on their studies. They should also involve themselves in co - curricular and extra curricular activities. Government has provided excellent facilities to students. It is for them to utilise them properly.
The collector said that 75 students have joined the college and another 15 will join after second counselling. Students from various districts of Tamil Nadu have joined the college.
It may be recalled that the college was inaugurated by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi at a function held near the college at Tiruvarur on 27th July, 2010. He gave the first admission card to a student on the occasion.
The college is fully functioning now with an outpatient ward, 300 bedded hospital, faculty building and lecture halls, blood bank, laboratories, boys and girls hostels for both Medical and Nursing students. Bus facilities have been provided to the college from the town.
KAPV Medical College
The first day for first year students of KAP Viswanatham Government Medical College on Monday was marked by a confidence building exercise. College authorities convened a meeting of the new comers along with their parents and encouraged them to express their expectations.
The Dean A. Karthikeyan dispelled the parents' fears of ragging in the campus even as their wards were welcomed by the office - bearers of the students' association. Senior students were involved in distribution of pamphlets to curb ragging.
