Infosys made 46 offers while TCS came up with 30 offers. MindTree Limited came third when it gave 15 offers to the B. Tech. graduates.
Some of the other companies that offered placements were CGI (11); Deloitte (11), Yahoo (10 internship); Bosch (8); Cordys (7); Wipro VLSI (7); and Poornam (8), she said.
Students of the B. Tech. electronics and communication engineering bagged the lion's share of the offers.
They won 92 offers while students of the computer science engineering stream won 91 offers.
Students of the electronics and bio - medical engineering batch won 18 offers.
According to the records available with the placement wing, many students have been already placed in various companies.
The average entry - level salary seems to have slightly gone down compared to the last two years. For students who found placement in 2009, the average entry - level pay packet was about Rs. 4.2 lakh. In 2008, the average annual salary was in the range of Rs. 3.8 lakh - Rs. 4 lakh a year.
Stating that MEC is the only college in the State to have been visited by Nvidia for recruitment consistently since 2006, P. Suresh Kumar, the college principal, said that MEC is also the only college to have Microsoft student partners.
Infosys had selected the college to conduct its programme called 'Campus Connect' aimed at grooming industry ready professionals, he said.
