Entries invited for RAAC Eco Awards 2013
Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore ( RAAC ) and the Coimbatore Chapter of Association of British Scholars ( ABS ) have invited entries for the ‘Eco Awards 2013’.
According to Honorary Secretary of RAAC R. Raveendran, the awards will be under the following categories – eco – friendly home, eco – friendly office, eco – friendly apartment / complex / gated community, special eco – friendly practice / feature / private initiative.
Individuals or groups that are involved in propagating environment – friendly practices may apply for the special category of awards introduced under the last category.
Those interested in applying can collect the prescribed forms at the RAAC Office, PSG College of Technology, Avinashi Road; or apply online on www.raac.co.in.
Filled – in forms should reach RAAC office before 9th March, 2013. A panel of evaluators will visit the premises of the shortlisted entries and examine the eco – friendly features and videotape them for playing the same on the day of the presentation of the awards. The winners will receive awards from Paul Sellers, Director, British Council, South India.
“Lead India 2020” launch on September 4
The First Training Program for the second national Movement “Lead India 2020” will be launched by District Collector P. Umanath at the PSG College of Technology on September 4.
The Program will be attended by volunteers from Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore, Rotaract District, GE Volunteers and JCI.
The training will be imparted to the volunteers and teachers of all schools by Prof. Sudhersan Acharya, the National Co-ordinator of Lead India 2020.
