Opt MANAGE for Agri Business
In an era of multi-disciplinary skills that not only fetch good jobs but also create new opportunities, the blend of agriculture and management is emerging as a hot option.
With agriculture business growing in India at a rapid pace, the sector has opened up immense opportunities, more so for the reason that it’s an untapped market that is seeing a shortage of professionals.
The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agri-Business Management) offered by the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE) is a perfect platform for students who desire to excel in the agri-business sector.
“The program aims at enabling, meritorious agricultural graduates acquire the critical competencies to function as effective Agri-Business managers,” feels Dr. Vikram Singh, Director, MANAGE, an organisation under Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. The course is accredited by the AICTE and NBA.
The two-year residential course has received excellent response from leading Indian and multinational agri-business companies with respect to placement of students as management trainees apart from assigning summer projects to them.
The course consists of live projects, field visits, case studies apart from regular teaching from professionals.
The selection of students takes place through a rigorous three-phase procedure comprising an all-India entrance test, group discussion and personal interview.
“In addition to the contemporary subjects in management education, the institute has specialised niche courses like Agri-input marketing, Supply and Distribution Management in Agribusiness, Contract Farming, Microfinance, Agricultural Export and Trade in order to prepare the students for the multifarious and ever-changing agricultural sector and rural economy,” says Dr. Singh.
The institute has got an excellent campus spread over 17 hectares at Rajendranagar, and is equipped with all modern amenities. It has wi-fi connectivity, video conferencing facility, gym, swimming pool, lawn tennis and other indoor game facilities. It has got fully furnished residential accommodation for 143 students.
Dr. Singh says their ‘Techno-Managers’ are spread over leading Indian and multinational companies and there is no wonder that the institute has a 100 per cent placement record since the commencement of the course. Its credentials got a further boost when a national magazine ranked it 19th among the top 75 management colleges in the country.
The survey of the magazine also placed it 10th in the government B-Schools along with IIMs & FMS, 2nd in the sectoral B-schools and 1st among the Agri-Business Institutes.
