Foreign Students gets Opportunity in DTU

To provide an international and multi - cultural flavour to the academic environment on its campus, the Delhi Technological University on Friday announced the admission procedure for foreign students for the first time.

The DTU commenced the procedure to admit foreign nationals, Non - Resident Indians (NRIs) and People of Indian Origin (PIO) in the B.Tech and M.Tech Program of the Delhi Technological University from 2010 - 2011 academic session.

Five per cent of the seats sanctioned for the intake in B.Tech and M.Tech Courses will be made available for such candidates.

The Delhi Technological University said the admission to these seats will be made on the basis of merit. For B.Tech Courses, the admissions will be decided on the basis of SAT - II score of an applicant.

A student would need to have a minimum 60 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Maths in Class 12 or equivalent examination and a minimum of 50 per cent SAT - II score to be eligible for a B.Tech program, provided he or she has passed in each subject separately.

There will be 45 seats in B.Tech Courses for the students under the categories of NRIs, POIs and foreign nationals.

For M.Tech Programs, an applicant would need to have a minimum 60 per cent aggregate in B.E, B.Tech or equivalent examination and a valid GRE score.

Selection will be made strictly on the basis of GRE score. There will be 17 seats on offer in the M.Tech courses for the above - mentioned categories of students.

Fees for foreign students, NRIs and PIOs for both courses will be US $5000. Detailed eligibility conditions and admission related information can be accessed on the Delhi Technological University website

The list of provisionally selected candidates will be displayed on the website on 5th August, 2010. The selected candidates will be required to take admission by 12th August, 2010, failing which the admission will be offered to the next candidate in the qualifying list on 13th August, 2010.
