New Zealand Education Fairs planned for India in September 2012
India is a priority market for Education New Zealand, and has become the third largest source country for international students in New Zealand. We appreciate that here is a high level of engagement and interest in marketing in India from education providers, and we are keen to provide opportunities for providers to market collectively to Indian students.
In September we will have New Zealand Education Fairs scheduled across India ( in Chennai and Delhi ) as well as one in Sri Lanka. We will be including the Bangalore Fair originally scheduled for April 2012 in this series of events.
We hope this will make it a trip to India a very viable option for education providers, with opportunities to market across three cities in India and to combine with Sri Lanka. The exact dates for the Fairs in September are still to be determined. We hope the change in timing for the Bangalore Fair has not caused any inconvenience.
We will be engaging in a range of marketing activities and support for export education options in India between now and September so that we continue to raise the profile of New Zealand as an education destination and a source of institutional relationships. As a snapshot of the activities planned, we are :
- organising an Aviation Cluster visit ( March )
- undertaking market research in India ( March – June )
- scoping a promotional campaign ( online and print / other media ) to take place over April and May to feed into decisions students are making for July
- participating in the Hindu education fairs in four southern cities in May ( Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi and Bangalore )
- organising an inbound high school principal visit to NZ ( probably in May )
- planning a high school Twenty20 cricket competition in Mumbai or Chennai in April, to tie in with the New Zealand players in the IPL
- organising a New Zealand Specialist Agent workshop ( June ).
We look forward to providing industry members with more information on opportunities for involvement in these activities, and the New Zealand Education Fairs planned for India for September.
