The committee would also recommend for developing Sirumalai as a prime tourist spot and improving the infrastructure there.
The Collector had sanctioned Rs. 50 lakh from his special discretionary fund for the implementation of various development works in rural areas and facilities assured by the committee to schools and students hostels. Praising the work of the district administration, Mr. Thangam said it took action on 110 out of total 125 petitions.
Equipment for GH
During his visit to the Dindigul GH in the morning, the chairman announced that the committee would recommend for the commissioning of dialysis equipment. With the absence of such facility, the GH had been referring patients to Madurai GRH for treatment.
Girls and boys hostels under the control of the Department of Adi Dravida Welfare, in Kodaikanal, had got wet grinders within 24 hours owing to quick action taken by the district administration.
