Chief Minister K.Rosaiah has instructed officials to ensure that only eligible backward and economically backward class students were paid post-matric scholarships and extended fee reimbursement.

At a review meeting on BC welfare here on Thursday, he said that fool-proof verification of applicants should be done to prevent ineligible students from garnering the benefit.

Expressing satisfaction over clearance of last year’s fee reimbursement dues despite financial constraints, Mr. Rosaiah directed the finance department to release the required funds to the BC Welfare Department for payments after verification and assessment at their end too.MBA Question Bank CD

Funds for Scholarships

Officials informed the Chief Minister that of the Rs.444 crore released towards post-matric scholarships during 2009-2010, Rs. 241 crore was spent benefiting 7.78 lakh students.

Under tuition fee reimbursement, of Rs.511 crore released, Rs.463 crore was availed of by 9.25 lakh BC students and another Rs.350 crore released for 1.75 lakh economically backward students.
