The varsity will send the intimation to the colleges inviting applications for the course, which will be under the self-financing scheme. "We will advise the colleges to fix a reasonable fee," Thiruvasagam said.
The university has already advertised the commencing of MA Civil Services and is getting applications from the colleges.
The varsity, since it does not have the Civil Service department, has entrusted the work of conducting the course with the departments of Sociology and Population Studies for MA Civil Services.
Around 30 students will be enrolled for the PG course. There will be around 50 students in each college for the UG course. The course will begin this academic year.
The syllabus will be framed by an advisory body comprising of Irayanbu IAS, Silendra Babu IPS and Venkatesan IAS, who is Karur District Collector.
The advisory body will meet once in six months.
"We will also rope in the faculty of top IAS coaching academies in India to train the students,' the Vice Chancellor said.
