Chennai: Seven women technologists and scientists will be honoured by State Government on Thursday with the Young Women Scientist Award for the year 2006. The awards, which are given through the Science City, are in recognition of significant research and academic activities. Reputed academician M. Anandakrishnan chairs the executive committee of the Science City.
They are M.P. Divya, Associate Professor of Forestry, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore; Vidya Sundarajan, Scientific Center for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam; K.Suguna of the Department of Structural Engineering, Annamalai University; P. Kalaiselvi, Lecturer in Medical Biochemistry, University of Madras; K.Rukmani, Professor of Pharmaceutical Engineering, Bharathidasan University, Thiruchirappalli, Rajula Chandran, Senior Scientist at Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore and T.V. Meenambigal, Associate Professor, Center for Animal High Studies, Chennai.
