ILS Law College Entrance Exam 2016 

ILS Law college Online Applications are invited for admissions to first year of 3 Year LLB & 5 year LLB Full Time Regular Degree course in Law through MH Law CET for the academic year 2016 – 2017.

MH Law CET Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for appearing to MAH LL.B 3 YEAR CET 2016 :

The candidate should be an Indian Citizen. The candidate belonging to the type [ NRI, PIO, OCI and Foreign National Students ] with following Academic Eligibility is not required to appear for CET. They must only apply for CAP rounds.

(a) Candidate should be a graduate in any faculty of any University in Maharashtra established by an act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent National Institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, with minimum 45% of Marks in aggregate ( That is 45 % marks for all the parts of the Degree Examination taken together ), ( candidate belonging to SC / ST Category need only 40%marks in the qualifying examination. )

(b) An applicant who has passed the U.G degree and or 2/3 years P.G degree from University mentioned in (a) after processing the studies in the pattern of 10+2+3 or 10+2+3+2/3 with regular studies at secondary and higher secondary schooling is eligible, Provided that, the applicant who have obtained First Degree Certificate by distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for CET of the 3 Years Law Courses. ( the applicant who has passed the qualifying examination ( 10+2, U.G. & or P.G. ) in a single sitting examination without having basic qualifications of ( 10+2+3 ) is not eligible. )

Further provided that, no candidate from the Open University having a degree contrary of the U.G.C. Act and regulations and contrary to Rules of Legal Education shall be eligible. Further provided that, candidates who are appearing / appeared for the qualifying examination ( regular examination of that academic year ) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidate become eligible for admission only if they produce the provisional / Degree certificate of the qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of qualifying examination at the time of admission.

There is no Upper age limit for admission to 3 year’s LL.B Course.

Eligibility Criteria for appearing to MAH LL.B 5 YEAR CET 2016 :

The candidate should be an Indian Citizen. The Candidate belonging to the type [ NRI, PIO, OCI and Foreign National Students ] with following Academic Eligibility is not required to appear for CET Examination. They must apply only for CAP rounds.

(a) An applicant who have successfully completed Senior Secondary School course ( +2 ) or equivalent  ( such as 11+1, A level in Senior secondary School Leaving Certificate course ) from a recognized university of India or outside or from Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course Examination, with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate ( candidate belonging to SC/ ST Category with minimum 40% marks ).

(b) The applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass certificate or First Degree Certificate after processing studies in distance or correspondence method is eligible for the course.

Provided that, the applicants who have obtained 10+2 through open university system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible .

Further provided that, applicants who have obtained 10th std. / Secondary Schooling Certificate Examination, in a single sitting examination without having basic qualification (1st to 9th standard of schooling) is not eligible.

Further provided that, the candidates who are appearing / appeared for the qualifying examination ( regular examination of that academic year) are also eligible to apply for the Entrance Examination. Such candidate will be eligible for admission only if they produce the proof of qualifying examination and the mark lists of all parts of qualifying examination at the time of admission.

There is no Upper age limitfor admission to 5 year’s LL.B Course.

MH Law CET  Exam Pattern

MAH LL.B 3 YEAR CET 2016

MAH LL.B 3 YEAR CET 2016 shall be conducted only in the ONLINE Mode in Multiple Sessions if required, by Competent Authority, using standardized equi-percentile method, for equating scores across sessions.

The CET comprises Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions in the areas of

[ Total 150 marks ].There would be 150 questions to be answered in a total time of Two hours ( i.e. One Hundred and Twenty Minutes ). Medium of Question Papers will be English and Marathi. There is no Negative marking for this CET.

MAH LL.B 5 YEAR CET 2016 

MAH-LL.B 5 YEAR CET-2016 shall be conducted only in the On-Line Mode in Multiple Sessions if required, by Competent Authority, using standardized equi-percentile method, for equating scores across sessions in specified centers within and outside Maharashtra.

The CET comprises multiple choice objective type questions in the areas of

  1. Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning (40),
  2. General Knowledge including Current Affairs (30),
  3. Logical and Analytical Reasoning (40),
  4. English (30),
  5. Basic Mathematics (10)

[ Total 150 marks ]. There would be 150 questions to be answered in a total time of Two hours ( i.e. One Hundred and Twenty minutes ). Medium of Question Papers will be English and Marathi. There is no Negative marking for this CET.

MH Law CET Syllabus

Following is the subject wise syllabus of the CET test for LL.B. 3 year courses.

(i) Legal Aptitude : This subject will test candidate interest towards stud} of law. research aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions will be framed with the help of legal propositions and a set of facts to which the said propositions has to be applied. Some propositions may not be true in the real sense, candidates will have to assume truth of these propositions and answer the questions drawing well supported conclusions.

(ii) General Knowledge with current affairs : The topic such as History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics, Current affairs of the past one year. The subject is to assess the knowledge of the recent happening and awareness of the world.

(iii) Logical & Analytical Reasoning : 

(iv) English : Vocabulary ( Synonyms, Antonyms, analogies etc. ) proficiency ( idioms and phrases, one word substitution, sentence improvement and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc. ), English usages errors ( common errors, spotting errors, inappropriate usages of words, spelling mistakes etc. ), English comprehension with minimum two passages followed by five to ten questions that test reading & reasoning abilities.

(i) English : Vocabulary ( Synonyms. Antonyms, analogies etc. ) proficiency ( idioms and phrases, one word substitution, sentence improvement and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc. ), English usages errors ( common errors, spotting errors, inappropriate usages of words, spelling mistakes etc. ). English comprehension with minimum two passages followed by five to ten questions that test reading & reasoning abilities.

(ii) Legal Aptitude This section will test candidate interest towards study of law. research aptitude and problem solving ability. Questions will be framed with the help of legal propositions and a set of facts to which the said propositions has to be applied. (iii) Logical Reasoning : The subject is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies etc.

(iv) General Knowledge including current affairs : The topic such as History. Geography, General Science, Economics. Civics. Current affairs of the past one year. The subject is to assess the knowledge of the recent happening and awareness of the world.

(v) Basic Mathematics The Mathematics questions will be set from 10th and 12th level of various topics including profit and loss, speed and distance, time and wrork, algebra, average, permutation and combination, Venn diagrams.

MH Law CET 2016 Application Form

It is mandatory for all aspiring candidates to Register & Confirm the Online Application Form for MAH LAW CET 2016 at http://www.dhepune.gov.in and http://www.mahacet.org.

MH Law CET 2016 Application form processing fees as stated below is to be paid through Online system only by Internet Payment, Credit Card / Debit Card [ RuPay / Visa / Master Card / Maestro ], payment gateway for which the service charges are to be paid by the candidate, as per rules of the payment gateway, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.

For Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State ( OMS ),J & K Migrant candidates Rupee 650/-
For Candidates of Backward Class Categories [ SC, ST, VJ/DT- NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC ] Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only. Rupee 350/-

MH Law CET 2016 Applications sent by Post / Courier etc., will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be made.  It should be noted that no documents are required to be submitted at this stage. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready at the time of Document verification stage at the time of Admission as per the notified schedule.

The candidates belonging to SC, VJ/DT (NT (A)), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC and SBC categories should produce “Caste Certificate” issued by Competent Authority and the Candidate belonging to ST category should submit “Tribe Validity Certificate” issued by Scrutiny Committee of Tribal Department along with Caste Certificate and excepting SC, ST candidates all category candidates must submit valid Non Creamy Layer certificate at the time of verification of Admission.
