Higher Secondary Examination March 2017 :

Admission of Private Candidates.

Applications are invited from the following types of candidates, appearing for Higher Secondary Examination to be held in, March 2015.

Direct Private candidates and candidates who have failed in Languages Part I and Part II under Old Syllabus ( prior to March 1997 ) and applying now should remit additionally Rupee 2 /- for conducting Aural – Oral Skill Test in Paper II of Languages under Part I and Part II.

1. Applications are invited from the following types of candidates, appearing for Higer Secondary Examination to be held in March 2013. Regular Private candidates ( H Type application to be used ) Candidates who have once Registered for the earlier session of Higher Secondary Examination and failed or absented may apply in the same group. 2. Non Public Private ( Direct Private ) candidates ( HP type application to be used ) Candidates who have appeared for the SSLC Public examination and declared eligible for admission to Pre – University Courses of study or who have secured 35% of marks in each of the subjects prescribed for the SSLC Public Examination ( X or XI ) or who have passed any other examination which will be equivalent to S.S.L.C. Examination in Tamilnadu or Other State Boards are eligible to apply; provided.i) They must have a minimum of two years gap from the year of passing SSLC Examination or equivalent Examination.

ii) They should have completed 16 Years of age on the 1st day of April of the year in which Exam is held. Candidates can appear only for the subjects not involving practical under General Education.

iii) Candidates who have passed their SSLC Examination in other states and wish to apply for Higher Secondary Examination in Tamil Nadu as direct private candidate (HP Category) should obtain a Migration certificate also from their Education Board and enclose it along with the application. Such Candidates should appear only in the subjects and medium permissible by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

No Transfer Certificate will be issued along with the Mark Certificate to Direct Private Candidates and no other claim regarding T.C will be entertained.

3. Improvement Scheme ( HI ) Candidates who have already passed the HSE in all the six subjects and want to improve their marks obtained earlier should apply in the HI application form. These candidates should write the Examination subject to the following conditions.a) As per the revised system candidates should necessarily appear in all the six subjects ( Part I Language, Part II English and 4 optional subject Under Part III ).

b) The marks secured by the candidates in the improvement Examination alone will be taken into account for admission to Higher course of study.

c) They should enclose their original HSE Mark Certificate and Chalan / Demand Draft for having remitted examination fees along with the application. The application without Higher Secondary Examination Mark Certificate in original will be rejected.

The original Mark Certificate of earlier examinations will be cancelled and the Improvement Mark Certificate alone will be issued to them.

(#) Break up of Rupee 35 is :

  • Registration Fee Rupee 10 /-
  • Mark Certificate Fee Rupee 20 /-
  • Service Charge Rupee 5 /-

1. Issue of Blank Application Forms :

Application Forms can be had from first week of December for march session and 3rd week of July for September session. For candidates who have failed in 1 or 2 subjects, Special Supplementary Examination will be conducted during June / July every year for which applications are issued during last week of May from the following Offices :

Important Instructions :

I. Change of Group not permissible for once appeared candidates :

As per the Higher Secondary Examination Scheme in vogue, Change of group / subjects will not be permitted under any circumstances. Private candidates are therefore informed that they have to reappear only in the failed subjects under the group last studied / appeared.

Direct Private Candidates :

Direct Private candidates will be admitted in any one of the following five groups of subjects only, in addition to Part I and Part II Languages only.

The syllabus and Text Books is the same as followed in regular schools ( State Board ) for 12th Std. ( Same as that for pupil candidates ). HP candidates can apply for any one of the combination of subjects under Part III.

III. Attestation on Application Forms :

The Private candidates are informed that they have to submit their Application Forms after getting attestation for the Photograph on the application ( including Hall Tickets ) only from the Headmaster of the School where the candidate had studied last.

Candidates who have passed X std. as Direct Private candidates and now applying as direct private candidates ( HP ) are instructed to get the attestation in the application as well as in the Hall Ticket from the Headmaster of the school last studied or Headmaster of High / Higher Secondary School nearer to his place of residence.

( The Headmasters can attest in the Application Forms only after verifying personally the genuineness of the candidates with the help of local people ).

Important Note : Applications attested by Gazetted Officers other than the Headmasters will be summarily rejected.

IV. Selection of Examination Centres :

Candidates should select any one of the places of examination given in the list attached to the application and mention the same in the Application Form, without fail.

V. Remittance of Examinations Fees :

Private candidates from places other than Chennai City area should remit the examination fee under the relevant head of accounts into the Treasuries / Sub Treasuries.

Private candidates from Chennai City should obtain Demand Draft from any one of the branches of State Bank of India or from any one of the Nationalized Banks, Chennai, favoring the “Additional Secretary to the Director of Government Examinations ( Higher Secondary ) Chennai – 6.”

No other mode of payment will be accepted. On the reverse side of the Demand Draft, candidates should write their full name and address without fail.

Further the candidates should write the Demand Draft Number, date and Name of the Bank in the relevant column of the application without fail.

VI. Fixing of Minimum Pass Marks Separately for Theory & Practical Examinations in the Practical involved Subjects :

Candidates who had appeared for the Higher Secondary Examination held in September 2006 and in earlier sessions but failed in the subjects involving practicals must secure 40 out of 150 in Theory and 30 out of 50 in Practicals to get pass in the subject as was followed earlier.

This system will be followed upto September 2007 session. Private candidates who have already secured the minimum pass marks as mentioned above in Practical exam in their earlier appearances need not redo the Practical Examination now.

Further, candidates who appeared prior to March 2001 examination and applying now for Practical involved subject ( s ) should get the practical marks from the school where they studied and enclose along with their application.

Candidates who have not secured the minimum marks in Practical Examination should necessarily appear for both theory and practical examination in order to pass the same.

VII. Aural / Oral Skill Test :

The following categories of private candidates will be admitted for the above test :

  1. All direct private candidates (  HP Category  ).
  2. Regular private candidates who have once appeared and failed in Part I & II Languages under the Old Scheme of Higher Secondary Examination ( Prior to March’97 ).
  3. Paper II under Language 20 marks have been allotted for Aural / Oral Skill Test. Aural / Oral Test will be conducted at the respective examination centres by the Language teachers after the theory examinations are over.
  4. Advanced Language ( Tamil ) – Aural / Oral Skill Test Aural / Oral Test will also be conducted for the subject Advanced Language (Tamil). Hence (I) candidates who have once appeared and failed in Advanced Language ( Tamil ) and (ii) Direct Private candidates apply under Group Code 307, in which Advanced Language ( Tamil ) is one of the subject must necessarily appear for Aural / Oral Test in Advanced Language ( Tamil ).
  5. The Aural / Oral Test conducted at the examination centres will be final and the marks obtained in the first appearance will be taken into account for further appearance if any. Thereafter the candidates will not be permitted to redo Aural / Oral skill test under any circumstances.
  6. Candidates have to attend the Aural / Oral Test on the specified dates as announced by the Chief Superintendent of the examination centre. If they fail to attend the Aural / Oral Test, they have to loose 20 marks prescribed for the Aural / Oral Test and the marks obtained in Theory paper alone will be entered in the Mark Certificate.

VIII. Other State Candidates :

The candidates who have studied in other states and apply as “Direct Private candidates” should submit the Migration Certificate obtained from the State Board where they had studied alongwith the S.S.L.C., Certificate in original and Transfer Certificate.

Candidates who have already appeared for Higher Secondary Examination conducted by any other Board cannot apply under this scheme.

IX. Enclosures to be sent along with the filled in Application :

Class XIIth Re Exam

TN Class XII Supplementary Exam on June 19

The special supplementary higher secondary examination will be conducted between 19th June, 2013 and 1st July, 2013, a press release. Students can apply online at http://dge.tn.nic.in between 23rd May, 2013 and 25th May, 2013.

Students will have to hand over a confirmation copy of the online application to the HM of the school, or the DEO in case of private candidates by 27th May, 2013.

 

Re Exam Hall Tickets

Hall Tickets issued for Class 10th Supplementary Exams

Hall Tickets for Regular Candidates :

The issue of hall tickets commenced on 21st June, 2012 for the special supplementary examinations to be held from 25th June, 2012 to 5th July, 2012 for candidates who failed in one to five subjects in the SSLC / OSLC / Matric / Anglo – Indian public examinations held in April 2012. The hall tickets would be issued till 23rd June, 2012.

K. Lalitha, Regional Deputy Director of Government Examinations, Vellore, said in a release that candidates who studied in schools till April 2012 and applied for the special supplementary examinations through their schools would be issued the hall tickets in their respective schools.

Hall Tickets for Private Candidates :

Hall tickets would be issued to the private candidates at Cheyyar Education District – Indo – American Matriculation Higher Secondary School ( for both SSLC and Matric ); Tiruvannamalai Education District – T.N.A.P. Government HSS, Tiruvannamalai ( SSLC and Matric ); Tirupattur Education District – T.M.S. HSS, Tirupattur ( SSLC and Matric ); Vellore Education District – Don Bosco High School, Vellore ( for SSLC ) and V.K.V.M. Government Girls HSS, Velappadi, Vellore ( for Matric ).

 

XII Exam

Preparations on for Board Examinations

The Directorate of Government Examinations is busy gearing up for the upcoming Board examinations. A detailed plan has been chalked out for the conduct of the class XII examinations, to be held between 8th March, 2012 and 30th March, 2012.

The revenue district of Chennai, for administrative purposes, has been divided into three educational districts – south Chennai, with 32 examination centres, east Chennai with 25 centres and north Chennai with 44 centres. A total of 50,293 students in Chennai will take the State Board higher secondary examination, according to a press release from the Directorate.

A meeting in connection with the conduct of the examinations was held at the Collectorate on 15th February, 2012. As many as six flying squads will be headed by the Chief Educational Officer. Each of the educational districts in the city will have four flying squads. Nearly 2,800 school heads will be involved in different capacities such as chief examiner, department officers, flying squad members and invigilators.

Severe action will be initiated against students indulging in malpractices, the press release said. In case students are caught copying, they will be barred from taking the examination for the next two years. Students caught for misconduct could be barred permanently from taking the examination or police action could be initiated.

In case of malpractices involving an examination centre, disciplinary action would be initiated against the head of the centre. In case of a private school, the school’s recognition would be cancelled and arrangements would be made for students to take the examination at another centre. Cellular phones will not be permitted in the examination hall.

Parents have also been asked to take good care of the students giving them healthy food and ensure that they reach the centre on time and safely on all days.

 

Special Admission

Special Admission Scheme for Private Candidates

The Department of Government Examinations has called for applications from private candidates for the ‘special admission scheme’ for the coming Higher Secondary Examinations, scheduled to be held from March.

According to a press release, candidates applying under the scheme should remit a fee of Rupee 1,000 in addition to the examination fees.

The fee should be remitted in any nationalised bank with a demand draft drawn in favour of ‘Director of Government Examinations.’

Blank application forms can be got from the offices of Chief Educational Officers, District Educational Officers, Joint Director ( Education ), Puducherry and from the Regional Deputy Director of Government Examinations from 8th February, 2012 to 10th February, 2012.

The filled in applications should be submitted in person before Friday, 10th February, 2012.
