UIHTM, Panjab University Admission through Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test ( PUTHAT ) for the following Four Year Programmes :
- Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology ( BHMCT )
- Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM )
PUTHAT Eligibility Conditions 2016
The Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test ( PUTHAT ) shall be open to all such candidates who have passed ( up to the Academic Session 2015 – 2016 ) in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate and English as one of the Compulsory Subjects.
The eligibility of a candidate will be provisional at every stage of the admission process. It will be the responsibility of the candidate to ensure his / her eligibility and fulfillment of various conditions for admission as prescribed in the rules / regulations of Panjab University. Admission will be cancelled at any stage in case the candidate is not found eligible, even subsequently.
Note : The candidates who have passed / appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are ineligible to appear in PUTHAT-2016, as this institution has been derecognised by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The examinations conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, included in the booklet of recognised exams, have also been deleted from the Booklet.
PUTHAT 2016 Scheme of Examination
The paper for PUTHAT will consist of 100 questions of one mark each. Total time allocated to the paper will be 90 minutes. The medium of PUTHAT examination shall be ENGLISH only. There shall be negative marking i.e., 25% marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. The distribution of marks for the respective components of testing would be as under :

PUTHAT 2016 Seats

Note : Additional Seats for (i) one girl child out of the only two girl children for admission to a given course in the Panjab University, provided, she is otherwise eligible from all angles; (ii) Cancer, AIDS and Thalessemia patient wherein the students are required to submit a certificate with proof from the National Medical Institute like PGI, AIIMS; (iii) wards of Kashmiri displaced persons; (iv) wards of Kargil war as per Syndicate decision dated 29- 07-2008.
PUTHAT Selection Process 2016
The admission to both the courses will be on the basis of the Merit of Panjab University Tourism and Hospitality Aptitude Test ( PUTHAT ) to be conducted by Panjab University. The merit list of candidates appearing for PUTHAT shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the PUTHAT only.
PUTHAT Admit Card 2016
The candidates shall be admitted to the PUTHAT Entrance Test only on the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre. No candidate shall be allowed to take the test without the Admit Card under any circumstances. The candidates must retain the PUTHAT admit card with them till the admission process is over, since it will be required again at the time of counselling.
PUTHAT Application Process 2016
- Register Online.
- Note down your Login Id and Password.
- Take print out of bank slip ( bank slip can also be downloaded from account using login id and password ).
- Deposit fee using website generated bank slip at any SBI branch, minimum one day after printing of bank slip.
- Login again after 24 Hrs. of depositing fee and upload scanned passport size photograph, signature, fill other important information and Save and Confirm. ( Once you confirm the form, you will not be allowed to change information in the form ).
- Download PUTHAT Admit Card after 27th April, 2016.

- If more than 24 Hrs. have passed after printing the fee slip and your details are not found in bank for despositing fee, write to firstname.lastname@example.org mentioning your problem along with application no., name and date of birth.
- Candidates who will avail the concession in fee under the category SC / ST OR P.U. Class B / C Regular Employee must send the copy of printout of their filled form along with the self attested copy of Category Certificate/ Proforma for claiming 50% concession to P.U. Regular Employees ( “B” and “C” Class ) duly signed by Head / Chairperson, to Assistant Registrar, CET Cell, Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014 by registered post / speed post or by hand on or before April 26, 2016 upto 4:00 PM.
