Career Course ::: Learning Foreign Languages ::: Institutes & Courses JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY: Undergraduate Language Programmes:The University holds an Entrance Examination for admission to various full-time programmes of study at around 34 Centres during May. Courses:B.A. (Hons.) in Persian, Modern Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Russian and Spanish (with entry points both to 1st and 2nd year). Students successfully completing the BA (Hons.) programme become eligible to seek registration to MA programme in the respective language. Eligibility: a) First Year of 3-year Bachelor's degree programme: Senior School Certificates (10+2) or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks. The candidates who are due to appear in Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply.
(b) Second year of 3-year Bachelor's degree programme:First year of Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 45% marks with adequate Proficiency in the language concerned.

How to apply:Application forms together with detailed instructions Booklet indicating selection procedure etc. for admission to each programme of study can be had either personally from the office of the Deputy Registrar (Admissions) on payment of requisites charges or by post. Last date:June. MA Level Courses:The Centres and their Programmes of Study 1. Centre of Arabic and Studies: M.A. Two-year/fourth year of 5-year integrated M.A. programme in Arabic. 2. Centre for Persian and Central Asian Studies:M.A. Two-year/fourth year of 5-year integrated M.A. programme in Persian. 3. Centre for Japanese and North-East Asian Studies:M.A. Two-year/fourth year of 5-year integrated M.A. programme in Japanese. 4. Centre for Chinese & South-East Asian Studies:M.A. Two year/Fourth year of Five-year integrated M.A. programme in Chinese. 5. Centre of French Studies:Two year/Fourth year of 5-year integrated M.A. programme in French. 6. Centre of German Studies:M.A. Two-year/fourth year of 5-year Integrated M.A. programme in German. 7. Centre for Indian Language:M.A. (2-year i.e. 4-Semester course) in Hindi and Urdu. 8. Centre of Russian Studies:M.A. Two-year/fourth year of Five-year integrated M.A. Programme in Russian. 9. Centre of Spanish Studies:M.A. Two-year/fourth year of 5-year integrated M.A. in Programme in Spanish. Eligibility for Admission:M.A. Two-year/fourth year of Five-year Integrated M.A. Programme. Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in any discipline with at least 45% marks with proficiency in the concerned language. Note:Candidates who have obtained their Bachelor's degree under the pattern of education other than 10+2+3 are considered for admission to (I) Fourth-year of five-year integrated M.A. Programme (ii) Two-year M.A. Programme if they have successfully completed the first-year of Master's degree Programme or a Bridge Course in lieu thereof wherever prescribed in a recognised University with the prescribed percentage of marks. Eligibility for appearing in the qualifying examination:The candidates who are due to appear in their respective qualifying examination prescribed as eligibility for admission to a particular programme may also appear in the entrance examination.
