Career in Beauty Industry
Anoo’s International Beauty School in association with the JNTU is offering a two – year master’s in Cosmetology.
Sounds incredible, but a hairstylist gets 10 times the pay of an MBBS doctor working on the same floor and a beautician earns more than an engineer.
Beauty is a serious business today and unlike in the past it now has the societal respect and the monetary returns.
The burgeoning profession has opened up numerous opportunities and the lack of qualified professionals also created a chance to make great careers.
In beauty industry it is the quality that matters a lot. Realising the great potential the field has, Anoo’s International Beauty School in association with the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University ( JNTU ) is offering a two – year master’s in Cosmetology from this academic year. “This is the first PG course in Cosmetology education being offered by any university in the country”, says Anooradha, Director of Anoo’s International Beauty School. The certificate is given by the JNTU and is treated on par with other PG degree thus giving a chance for the students to go abroad for higher studies.
Ms. Anooradha says the beauty industry is experiencing a huge shortage of qualified professionals and this course aims to plug that gap. As she puts it, studying cosmetology is not getting trained as a beautician. “It is a mix of clinical, surgical and management courses apart from the regular cosmetic treatments.
The curriculum is designed to develop aptitude, appearance and attitude. The course content encompasses skin, hair, international standard cosmetology, spa and aromatherapy treatments.
International Pattern :
The school follows the international pattern of education that gives equal weightage to theory and practical sessions incorporating latest beauty and glamour trends.
Spread over 10,000 square feet area, the school has international standard styling areas, designated workstations and specialised equipments. Students get hands – on experience in treating the clients and operating the beauty centre with the Anoo’s beauty centre attached to the school.
Opportunities for the trained are plenty as they can work as consultants to multinationals, open their own salons, or work with corporates in specialised fields. With tourism and hotel industry set to grow the opportunities are unlimited and so are the monetary benefits. For whom beauty is a passion and not a career option, the school offers tailor – made courses to suit their interests and time.
Course fee :
The course fee is 4 lakh and there is a flexibility of paying 1 lakh every semester. The fee is fixed by the JNTU taking into consideration the inputs cost.
With the JNTU recognition, students would be eligible to education loans.
