MKU Madurai Admission Selection Procedure 2016

Entrance Test ( Category – A ) :

The selection of candidate is based on the marks in the Entrance Test conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University. For M.P.Ed. Course in addition to the Entrance Test, Practical Examination and Viva-voce will be conducted on the same day of the Entrance Test.

Entrance Test ( Category – B ) :

The selection of the candidate is based on the marks obtained upto V semester / II year ( Non-semester ) of the course even though the candidate has already passed the degree.

MKU Admission for PG Courses 2013

Admissions for various postgraduate courses in Madurai Kamaraj University for academic year 2013 – 14 have commenced.

The courses are M.Sc. microbial gene technology, M.Sc. biochemical technology, M.Sc. sub – aqua marine ecology and toxicogenomics, M.Sc. electronics and instrumentation, M.B.A., M.C.A., M.B.A. ( Hospital Administration ) and Integrated M.Sc., Ph.D. in genomics.

MKU 3 Schools Established Soon

MKU Plans Three more Schools 2013 Launched Soon

Madurai Kamaraj University proposes to start three more schools to meet the growing educational needs of students, said Vice – Chancellor Kalyani Mathivanan on 2nd February, 2013.

Talking to the press after taking part in a constituent college function at Kottur village near here, she said that a school each for youth empowerment, information technology and linguistic communication would be established soon.

The university now has 18 schools in different disciplines.

Two five – year integrated courses – post graduate courses in electronic media and in tourism and hotel management – were introduced in its constituent colleges this year. Students who have completed plus two could join these job – oriented courses directly, the Vice – Chancellor said.

Reforms

The university was now focusing on reforming its distance education courses to enhance quality and to make them job – oriented. Work on formulating course structure and syllabus was at the final stage. On completion of the process, the university would send a report to the government for approval, Ms. Mathivanan added.

The university had also proposed to improve infrastructure facilities at its constituent colleges. The Madurai Kamaraj University Arts and Science College at Kottur in Theni district would have its own building soon.

At present, the college functioned from rented buildings in three places.

They would be brought under one roof after construction of a new building, the Vice – Chancellor said.

The Madurai Kamaraj University MKU controller of examinations had announced the latest notification about the UG and PG degree examination results 2013.

All the UG and PG degree courses examinations was conducted in the month of November 2012 at various Colleges examination centers which was written by many candidates.

The students can get the semester examination results 2013 for UG and PG degree courses Except CBCS, MPhil Courses, CBCS UG and PG degree courses.

The students can enter the examination register number to view and download the marks scored in all the subjects online from the official website of Madurai Kamaraj University.

MKU Free Coaching Classes

Free Coaching Classes from 9th December, 2012

Madurai Kamaraj University has invited applications from candidates belonging to SC / ST, minorities and other backward communities ( non – creamy layer ) for attending free coaching classes for UGC – NET exam.

Free coaching will be given for Tamil and Commerce from 9th December, 2012 ( Sunday ), according to a press release from V.Chinniah, Professor in Department of Management Studies, and coordinator for UGC coaching scheme, here on 4th December, 2012.

The classes for Paper – 1 which is general paper on teaching and research aptitude will be held from 10th December, 2012 to 15th December, 2012.

It will have 11 model tests.

Candidates who have applied for ensuing UGC – NET examination to be held on 30th December, 2012 can send their application to The Coordinator, UGC Scheme for NET and SET, MBA Block, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.

New Master Courses

Madurai Kamaraj University offers Two New Courses

The Madurai Kamaraj University offers the following five – year integrated courses in two specialised areas from this academic year 2012 – 2013 : Masters in Film and Electronic Media Studies & Master of Tourism and Hotel Management.

Candidates who are interested in joining these courses can apply online from 14th July, 2012 via university website.

In a press release Madurai on 13th July, 2012, its Registrar In – Charge R.Kannan, said the objective is to establish high standards of film and television education in India in order to raise the Technical Standard of Films and Television Programmes.

The Masters in Film and Electronic Media Studies course will produce trained manpower for the growing needs of Film Industry and Television Organisations. It would generate employment opportunities for students and involve them constructively in societal education.

He said the course would focus on skilled manpower needed for Traditional and Folk media in India. It would fill the demand – supply gap in the field of mass media. The course provides scope for research in film and television branches.

About the tourism and hotel management course, he said that it would lay emphasis on Theoretical and Practical training in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management. The course will inculcate habits of courtesy, discipline and hard work besides popularising hotel management and catering as attractive / progressive career.
